Thanks everyone who came to the reading, especially Nilanjana, who carried the entire evening, Sarnath, Jeet and Shakti, masterminds of the birthday cake surprise onstage attack, and Ravi, who gave me the kindest introduction Ive ever had. But everyone who was present yesterday was staggeringly nice; I had the best time, and I hope you enjoyed yourself too.
why was i not there?.. why does distance part us so?
congratulations, you big celebrity.
Was thinking about what you guys must be doing last evening and feeling terribly frustrated. After all, it was my first chance to be at a launch where the author was a friend, and I could have sauntered around not as a paati journalist but a veritable mine of information about the author, regaling people with anecdotes about Superman tees and suchlike.
P.S. I think TT is covering this as metro round-up. I’ll find out who’s writing it ask her to begin with the immortal lines ‘This week, the Capital saw…’ as a special tribute to you.
awww. good to know u had a good time. heppy burtday again!
i just watched king kong. hugely hugely entertaining.
u’ll get a better welcome here in cal. trust me. *nods head wisely*
What does a “masonic Handshake” mean? Tried dictionary.com and it said relating to Freemasons. Any other meaning in your mind?
Dear Famous Literary Person,
First of all congratulations on what must have been a very exciting launch.
Secondly, please royally kick the asses of your publishers/distributors. The Manticore’s Secret has still not made it to the bookstores. There are a few fans of yours who have spent many wasted hours of travelling over the past few days going to the stores in question, only to be disappointed.
Have a great time in Calcutta, and
cheers
MvR
err..the happy birthday and best of luck message that you got from a strange number and did not reply to was my, actually. but hopefully all went well and book has already hopelessly outsold da vinci code (tee hee)and filled its author’s coffers beyond imagining etc.
