Whew

How mind-numbingly scary it is when the net is down. It’s finally back, thank the gods. The cable internet people got tired of me calling every few minutes. Well, it took them seven hours to haul ass, so I guess we were pretty even. While I was waiting, finished a book, watched Fantastic Four (nice special effects, no story, harmless fun), and trailed to a cybercafe (shut) a friends place (spyware overlead) and another cybercafe to speed-do my Telegraph column.
Got a mike yesterday, so am now a Google talk user. Its good fun, though a lot of people seem to work in offices and arent too happy when you bellow gently out of their speakers. The volume thing on the Google Talk chat box reminded me of KITT, the car in Knight Rider, talking to Michael Knight (good old David Hasselhoff, where would we be without him); told Arjun this and he thought I had named my mike Michael, so I have.

Blog day: Happy Blog Day. We bloggers rule. On blogs, mostly. Does it mean something that my net connection is back today? Thanks very much Megha and Rajesh. More new blogs in the sidebar.
A Delhi blogger’s meet is coming up this weekend; will probably go.

Update: I have been informed, very gently, that it is no longer Blog Day (surprise) and that it is now September (shock). But I knew today was Thursday, I swear

  3. Sometimes it’s frightening how dependent I am on the internet. At times, I feel that people I’ve never met except on line understand more about me than “close” friends.
